From the Andrea Boldrini website, we've not heard of the maker... so we picked up some of their shoes to see whats up!
Designing and manufacturing slipper rock climbing shoes is not an easy business.
Would it come under an unfeasible matter to design and manufacture innovating slippers in the traditional pure spirit, most particularly in France?
We are in a position to assert that it is achievable, the Boldrini collection meets an unprecedented success towards knowledgeable experts and with the wealth of this successful challenge we announce the improvement of our production outputs of our Romans site in the department of DrĂ´me.
We are proud and excited to unveil our new 2007 fashion show enriched by even more innovations and more than ever aimed at the “performance-precision-comfort” triad.
I find the Apache to be a very snug, comfortable fit - very good for low volume feet if you're struggling to find the perfect fit. They feel a bit like a wetsuit, as they don't seem to have excess volume in the toe box (like you might find in the Miura for example). Because of their rigidity (and all that rubber) they don't need to destroy toes to provide tension, so they feel like a very natural fit. I haven't found any hot points around the small toes, which I tend to get with 5.10, MadRock and even my beloved Saltic. They don't have the greatest sensitivity - probably because of the rubber thickness - so I do find myself looking down a lot more just to check I've found the footer. I prefer them for edges, not so much for anything smeary. That said, I can't imagine buying anything else now! Oh, and for anyone who can't 'try before you buy' - they seem to be a reasonably true size (in my experience at least - same EUR size in these as my running shoes).
